Hello my fellow skaters......
I talked to Gus Swenson yesterday, if you don't remember, he was one of the original floor guards from the Skate Center...and guess what??? He still has his uniform. I told him to bring it and we will display it somewhere. He threw out some names he will be contacting. Remember .... Roger Suggs, James Barfield, John Black, Jimmy Golden, Jimmy Gibson, Mark Ferrbee
(t top) .James Moon.......which could skate better than anybody on a pair of rental skates and could do the "toe" better than anyone....Mark Googe, Freida South ,Connie Pinkston..lol....WOW that is a blast .....If you know of these ppl I just listed and know how to get in touch with them.....spread the word..this is gonna be big.
I am working with the Marriott Town Place Suites on Armour Rd. to get a block room rate for folks that might have to come from "out of town" and would prefer to stay one night at a hotel, the night of the reunion. If you are interested, then please email me so I can put you on the list. I know most hotels get booked up around that time since it is Thanksgiving week, so let me know asap so I can forward the info to Marriott and get a collective number on the block rooms. I will know the rate sometime today and will post it on the blog.
Also, I called Long Horn Steak House on Macon rd. and I booked the banquet room for that friday from 5 to 7. It will hold about 40 people and I was thinking we could all meet there, have some appetizers or early dinner, drink a cold beer or have a glass of wine, throw peanuts on the floor and then head to the skating rink to JAM......LOL..... I will also need people to confirm with me if you will be meeting at Long Horn to sit and chat and catch up. So email me and I will add you to the list. Taffyphoto@yahoo.com

I just talked to Mark Ferrebee, he is going to contact Mary Ellen and Cornelia and anyone else he can think of....trying to find Phil Pollard, Tim Hestley and Robert Jackson. I also talked to Johnny Sanders and Sharon Enfinger. Lynn is calling Bill Enginger and Scotty Miller.....Spreading the word one phone call at a time!
